Do you find change difficult? Not just annoying but seriously, seriously difficult? For example you hate having to change your clothes.
Do the things people say to you often make no sense to you? “You should spend more time with the kids.” How much time is “more time”?
Can you get really obsessed with a hobby? If you’re playing online, nothing else exists.
Do you get bouts of black depression because the world doesn’t make sense. (Sometimes you wish you were dead. Then things wouldn’t be so complicated.)
How do you go about finding a partner when there’s no clear set of rules for how to do it?
If some of these describe how you feel, you might be on the Autistic spectrum or be neurodivergent. Counselling can help. Partly by providing a safe place to talk about yourself. And partly so that someone else can help you make sense of what you’re saying and experiencing. Which can help you be more in control, so avoiding this shutdowns or meltdowns.
““Out of your vulnerability will come your strength.”
Counselling can’t change what life brings – but it can help how you respond to it. Talking with a counsellor gives you the chance to step outside yourself and look at your life from a different perspective.
Not quite ready to make that call? I have created these questions so you can get curious about your life
